Finally...

So, after years of consideration and two "Stripper 101" classes in Las Vegas, I decided to purchase a professional pole for fitness and dance. My first experience with pole was at Stripper 101 while on vacation in Vegas. This was in December of 2010. I loved the class, had a blast and laughed the whole time. I caught onto the spins quickly and was hooked! I purchased a tank top to let everyone know I had tried it! In January, I did some research into taking local classes, but the closest studios were an hour away. I then did research into poles and almost purchased one... Instead, I purchased a starter kit for my direct sales business! That was the perfect choice for me at the time and I'm glad I choose that so that I could save up to purchase my pole with that income.

Ifound a used X-pole Xpert from a gym for a great deal. I received in Wednesday and put it up myself! On Thursday, I didn't do too much as my husband wanted to inspect that it was put up right and wouldn't destroy the ceiling. Today was the first day I was able to really experiment.

After realizing I have no upper body strength, I put the pole on spinning mode. This really helped with my spins as I could concentrate on holding myself up and have the free momentum. I worked on a few spins including the fireman, front hook and a form of the back hook with a "dying" move. I was quickly nauseous with the spinning so I took a break. I think I have the Fireman spin down pretty well. I need to work on some more strength with the front hook and definitely with the back hook! I intend to find some sort of mirrors so I can see if I'm actually looking like what I think I look like! I realize this is going to be a long journey to look like the beautiful dancers on YouTube, but that's my goal and to tone up on the way!

Some resources I've used to look up moves were:
